Bird Song

Best adored with Florence + Machine’s Bird Song

I went to a Arts and Crafts Fair the other day, at Reykjavík’s city hall. I originally intended only to go to borrow ideas for my sew-simple series. However, I could help but support my local artists. I came out with this little black bundle of joy by Margrét from Kirisuberjatré. Worth every “króna”.

Technically it’s supposed to be a crib mobile, but since I don’t have any children of my own yet, my bed post will have to do for now. The tune is of an Icelandic folksong (that could pass as a nursery rhyme), called Krummavísa (e. Raven lullaby), which I am guessing are also the origins of the feathers. Cleaned I hope.
